Understanding manipul@tion: a better internet starts with you!
On Safer Internet Day, February 11th, myself and Raphael Vinot were the speakers at the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg:
Internet access is essential to study, to work and to be informed. However, 90% of Europeans are worried about the threat to democracies posed by online disinformation.
For this reason, the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg, in collaboration with Securitymadein.lu and BEE SECURE, is pleased to invite you to a conference by Mr. Chris Pinchen, one of Luxembourg’s “local heroes” of the European Commission’s #EUProtects campaign and expert in online security and information technology.
Guests will watch a special presentation that covers hot topics, such as the manipulation of search engines, the effects on traditional media and the participation of political actors and artificial intelligence in this process.
You do not need to be a tech expert to attend this special event! You should expect a few jaw-dropping moments, a pinch of politically incorrectness, and a stronger awareness for better and safer use of new technologies.
The event will take place in English and will be preceded at 12:00 by a light lunch offered by the Commission Representation.
